Meet Our New Mechanic by: Donnie Bowen II
My name is Donald Joseph Bowen II. I grew up in Warrenton, Missouri, and graduated high school in 2007. During my senior year of high school I joined the Marine Corps for infantry and left for boot camp two weeks after graduation. I lived in California for the next four years, with short breaks in between to go to Iraq and Afghanistan.
After the Marine Corps I decided I needed a career that I would love and that would allow me to have tattoos. Since I have had a love for motorcycles my whole life, I enrolled in Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) and moved to Phoenix, Arizona. While living in Phoenix I bought a Buell 1125R and sold my vehicle. I didn’t drive a car for the two years I was in Phoenix and loved every second of it. In October of 2013 I graduated from MMI with 100% of my Honda Certifications and completed the Kawasaki and Harley Davidson (early and late models) programs.
I then moved back to Missouri where I went to work for another motorcycle shop for six months on mostly sport bikes. Then in April 2014 I came to work for Chariots of Fire Customs. I love working here and am glad I switched shops.
I have a red heeler named Hunter. I love my job, love bikes and I love Harley, but I am not biased-If you ride, you ride. Make doesn’t matter.
Hell Yea, Donnie
