Let the Rides Begin!! By: Jim Childers

As we are in a new riding season I hope we did the normal things, check tire pressure, look at the condition of the tires, check the oil, make sure all the lights work, or taking it to a qualified mechanic to have a spring check up done on our rides.

The one thing that most of us over look which is probably the most important for our own safety and others is, to do a tune up on our riding skills.  Even as little as one month out of the saddle your skills can lessen and you may not be as sharp as you once were. This spring has been cold and wet. It may seem silly but a trip to a parking lot to do basic maneuvers Continue Reading →

Favorite Rides by Reine Knobbe

As mentioned in last months newsletter, I would like to start adding an article mid-month during riding season of our favorite rides.  My hope is that you, our customers, will start sending your pictures and a short description of your favorite ride.  It does not have to be local.  It can be in another state, or country for that matter!  There are so many roads to take.  Let’s share our favorite rides so others can enjoy them also. Change by: Reine Knobbe

One of my mantra’s that I say is “I easily flow with change, my life is divinely guided, therefore I am always going in the right direction”.  It has served me well.  As many of us seasoned riders know, the road ahead is not always clear.  Challenges are always popping up whether it is debris on the road or an unexpected life altering event.  It may seem like a good idea to stay on a steady course, ride the familiar roads as we have a pretty clear idea of what is up ahead.  However, where is the adventure in life if we don’t make changes along the way?  Try a new road, the results could be a beautiful stand of dogwoods in bloom or a better paying job. Ready for Spring by: Jan Knobbe

We all know the old saying “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb”.  Well those of us on the Chariots of Fire racing team cannot wait for the lamb.  Spring can’t come soon enough.  It is kinda opposite what is happening with the race team, instead of old man winter leaving, young Jake has moved on with his adventure in Denver while older man (relatively speaking) Shayne is coming into the fold as our new driver.  Continue Reading →

2012 | American Heart Association

We just found out this year that several close friends of ours just happen to have the same rare heart condition making this year’s fundraiser easy to choose The American Heart Association.  There are many individuals with varying heart conditions, including my father and our own Mr. Jim Childers, so we were happy to donate proceeds to such a worthy cause.  Recoil, a young and very talented band out of Union Missouri really rocked!  I had many individuals comment on how good they sounded, playing classic rock no less.  We raffled off several guns this year.  As always, we had the support of our local biking community to make it a fun day.  Thanks everyone!

Reflections by: Jim Childers

As I begin my 4th year with Chariots of Fire Customs LLC I have taken the opportunity to look back at the changes that have happened to me and the shop:

  •  No Grey Area was the first ground up build I was involved in with at the shop. For me this was a new way of thinking. No engineering drawing just a napkin and an idea. That changed the way that I thought about doing what seemed like normal things like how to operate a clutch or use the brakes. Continue Reading →
